Obituary of Wilma P. Loughrey

Wilma Purdon Loughrey Jan. 3, 1927- May 21, 2016 If you ever tasted Mrs. Loughrey's Saturday night hamburgers, you know that the secret ingredient was love. She's no longer frying up the burgers but the love she shared with all will forever stay in our hearts. Wilma Genevieve Purdon was born at home in Walnut, Kansas on January 3, 1927. She passed away in University Place on May 21, 2016. Those that have loved her are welcome to join in for a Rosary service on Wednesday June 15th at 11 AM followed by a celebration of Wilma's life in the Chapel at 11:45 AM at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery 37600 Pacific Highway S. Federal Way. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike & Nora Purdon of Walnut, Kansas; sisters, Maxine (Mutt) Smith, Mary; brothers, Vincent, Billy Mike (Ann) & Leo (Cleo). Her heart was broken in 2000 when her first born son, Edward David Loughrey, died of cancer. Then 9 months later, she lost her husband of 55years, Eugene Lee Loughrey, to Parkinson's. She was a grandmother to Amy (Chris), Jordan (Allison), Brooke (Mike) Alex (Fiancée, Jen) and Chad (Keishanna). She had 7 great grandchildren. Sarah, Emma, Ainsley, Samuel, Elle, Ash, Neve and many nieces & nephews. Her youngest great-great niece, Norah Maxine Martin, also held a very special place in her heart. Her two daughters, Debbie Loughrey-Johnson (Terry) & Lynn Robinson (Cari) want to thank the kindness of friends, especially Maureen; and caregivers over the past few months. A Special reception will be held at the family home following the service.
