Marvin was born in Tacoma, on December 27, 1925 to Olaf and Olga Christiansen and passed into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on March 15, 2008, surrounded by family and friends. He grew up in Tacoma and joined the US Navy in 1943. He was assigned to LST 45 where he took part in operations on the Asiatic-Pacific theatre.
