Obituary of Rosemarie Helene Brateng

Rosemarie Helene Brateng Rosemarie passed away April 17th 2008, at home with her family by her side. She was born in Germany, on April 4th 1937. It was there where she met and married her soul mate, Lyle O. Brateng (Tiny), on February 14th 1959 and thus became a military wife. Together they raised four children, while being moved to all parts of the world before planting roots in their home in Lakewood, Wa. in 1976. Rosemarie worked at Pierce College in the custodial dept. and after 18 years, she retired to spend more time with her family and to tend to her beautiful yard and garden. She always loved decorating her home for all of the holidays. She enjoyed spoiling her grandkids, children and her dog Rusty. Rosemarie was a very generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, to whom will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Rosemarie is survived by her daughter Jean (Jamie) son's Dennis (Lisa), Gary, Jeff (Beth); grandchildren Jonathan, Tyler, Orrin, Jessica, and Nicole; sisters Inge, Hannelore; brother Wolfgang and many more relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Lyle; parents Friedrich and Auguste Salge and her brother Fritz. Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, May 2nd at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent WA., where she will be laid to rest with Lyle. Arrangements by Piper-Morley-Mellinger Funeral Home of Tacoma. A reception will follow the service at mom's home.
