Stella and I became friends at Truman Junior High School. We shared a couple of classes, and I can still picture her beautiful smiling face and hear her giggles and laughter. Some memories are locked in our brains forever, and I remember Stella and her friend Alta sitting near me. I asked Stella and Alta if they were sisters because their names seemed alike to me. I will always remember sweet, joyful Stella.
We met in the 9th grade; Stella was kind and thoughtful, and we quickly became best friends. That friendship spanned over 50 years, through many changes, but we remained friends to the end. I miss you every day, Stella, our talks, garage sales, breakfast at Ben Dews, hours of just talking. I still can't believe you're gone, except when I reach for the phone... Then I remember & am sad.
I became acquainted with Stella at Truman Junior High School. We shared classes, and I always appreciated her kind smile and her delightful contributions to our conversations. Her gentle spirit and kindness will live on.
