Obituary of Allyene Vivian Lawler

Allyene Vivian Lawler Allyene was born in Melvin, Iowa on October 2nd, 1916 to Albert and Mary Stevens. She passed away on September 12th, 2007. The family moved to Jamestown, ND in the 1920's, where she met and married her husband Francis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years and her brother Bob and sister Bernice. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Karen Hermsen (Bob), son Mike (Bobbie), and daughter MelindaECampbell, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many other loving family members. Her love of family and friends is unsurpassed. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Alterra Assisted Living for their exceptional care of Mom, especially after Dad's passing 2 years earlier. A special thanks goes out as well to University Place Care Center and Franciscan Hospice. A praying of the Rosary will be at 11:15 AM, followed by a celebration of life at Visitation Catholic Church, 58th and Warner, Tacoma, WA on Sept. 19th, 2007, 11:30 AM. A light luncheon will follow the service, along with graveside services at Calvary Cemetery, 5212 70th St. W., Tacoma. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to The Wayne R. Mangan Family Foundation , 6003 76th Street West, Lakewood, WA 98499. Its mission is to help finance the $52 per person bone marrow testing fee and to support families with children fighting blood-borne cancers. Although Mom did not die of cancer, this would have been her wish. Arrangements entrusted to Piper-Morley-Mellinger Funeral Home, 253-472-3353
